The initiative, launched by the Gozo Business Chamber, focuses this year on ‘Digital Solutions for a Smarter Island’
Young people aged between 16 and 35 are being invited to develop digital business ideas aimed at addressing challenges faced by Gozo as part of the 2026 edition of Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo.
The initiative, launched by the Gozo Business Chamber, focused this year on “Digital Solutions for a Smarter Island”.
Participants are being asked to develop “innovative, digital-based business ideas with a practical application to Gozo”, with proposals expected to address one of three areas: accessibility, the ageing population and youth participation.
“Accessibility-related proposals could focus on improving connectivity, mobility and access to services, while ideas targeting the ageing population should support active, healthy and independent ageing through digital solutions,” the chamber said.
The third area focuses on finding new ways for young people to engage with, participate in and contribute to their communities.
The initiative is open to young people residing in the Maltese Islands and does not require participants to be Gozitan. However, their proposals must have a clear and practical application to Gozo.
The chamber said participants will receive training, guidance and mentoring as they develop their ideas and prepare their pitches. Preparatory workshops will also be organised by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ in the coming weeks.
Shortlisted participants will present their proposals during the Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo final, scheduled for Friday, 6 November 2026 at 7pm, before a panel of evaluators.
The competition is open to ideas including apps, digital platforms, online services and AI-powered solutions, as well as other technologies that could contribute to addressing challenges on the island.
Further information on the initiative and applications is available through the Gozo Business Chamber website.
