Gozo General Hospital is set to expand its outpatient services with nine additional clinics, a minor procedures room and expanded operating theatres, Finance Minister Clyde Caruana announced on Monday evening during his Budget 2027 speech.

The government is also planning dedicated space for women’s health at the hospital. The plans form part of the wider development of Gozo General Hospital and aim to increase the range of healthcare services available on the island.

The government said expanding services in Gozo would reduce the need for patients to travel to Malta for treatment. It would also allow the hospital to complement services offered at Mater Dei Hospital, with the aim of improving access to care and reducing waiting times.
