Non-residents travelling on the Gozo Channel Ferry will pay €11 for an adult ticket and €7 for children, under changes announced by Finance Minister Clyde Caruana in his Budget 2027 speech on Monday evening.

The new fares will also see the cost of taking a vehicle to Gozo rise to €22 for non-residents. A driver travelling with an adult passenger will pay €33 in total, while a driver accompanied by an adult and a child will pay €40.

Currently, a vehicle and driver pay €15.70, rising to €20.35 when an adult passenger is included and €21.50 when travelling with an adult and a child.

The changes mean that a non-resident travelling with a vehicle, an adult passenger and a child will pay €18.50 more than under the current tariff.

Caruana also announced a €3 increase per journey for tourists using the Valletta fast ferry service.

Furthermore, Caruana said the fares currently paid by tourists were relatively low, adding that the revised tariffs were expected to generate around €13 million in additional revenue. The extra income is intended to offset a reduction in government subsidies for the services.
