Gozo is set to receive €141.27 million in government expenditure in 2027, an increase of €19.19 million over the previous year, Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has announced.

Finance Minister Clyde Caruana presented the 2027 Budget in parliament on Monday evening, outlining the government’s financial plans and expenditure for the coming year.

Subsequently Camilleri highlighted the allocation for Gozo in a post on Facebook. The minister described the allocation as the largest amount of funding ever allocated to Gozo.

The projected expenditure represents a 15.7% increase on the €122.08 million allocated for 2026. Recurrent expenditure is expected to reach €107.18 million, an increase of 13.4% compared with 2026. Capital expenditure is also set to rise, increasing by 23.8% from €27.5 million in 2026 to €34.09 million in 2027.

Camilleri said the increased allocation was “further investment in Gozo”. The figures indicate increases in both day-to-day government spending and capital investment on the island.
